It’s the little things

What a great week!  I started the paper chase for the adoption and then yesterday my dear friends B and K welcomed to the world Baby B!  If B’s cell phone could have become a live feed I would have paid the $8 T*mobile wanted to charge me at the airport to use their internet.  (I was stuck at the airport for a few hours yesterday traveling for a business meeting)  I sure hope K didn’t get mad that I texted in the middle of the pushing part… when I got the text back that said pushing I just about screamed in the middle of the airport.. K don’t be mad at B for texting me in the midst of such a moment 😉  B and K’s journey has somewhat mirrored mine.  For some reason we always had loss right about the same time, usually within weeks of each other.  But this time.. Baby B stuck around!  And let me tell you… he is darn cute and I think all will say worth the wait?!!

On another note.. a couple of people have asked where I am adopting from.  I have chosen to adopt from Kazakhstan.  See the flag over there on the right 🙂

This morning when I got my mail I had a package.  I was happy to see it was a box from the adoption agency.  They mentioned they would be sending me a kit with all the info that I needed to get started.  When I got to work and opened my package inside I found two awesome informational binders.  One titled Care Kit and the other titled Dossier Preparation Kit.  Both of the binders are amazing and filled with information and forms and samples.  I love them!  Well, in addition to the fantabulous binders was a surprise that I thought was beyond sweet and awesome!  It was this;

Inside was that cute yellow bear, a frame, a journal and a book on Kaz.  On Monday I have a call with the Home Study Agency so we can schedule appointments and get the ball rolling on that.  I will admit that I got a little overwhelmed at all the paperwork I need to chase down when I read the binder.  But I need to just take it one step at a time.  Wow… this happening.  I feel awesome today!  Have a great weekend everyone!

  5. One of my best friends used to work as an adoption specialist, specializing in adoptions from Kazakhstan. She got laid off when her agency started failing due to the economy, but she loved her job and loved working with those kids. I am sure you are going to have an amazing experience! So exciting!

  6. You rock my sassy t. Miss ya. Missing a lot right now, but I’m glad I kinda get to view the world thru eyes not so jaded as mine. Love ya.

  7. Congratulations on taking the first steps on your amazing journey to Kazakhstan and your child! And you won’t be alone 🙂 There is a wonderful and support community that will be walking the same crazy path.

    Best wishes.
